Q. What are the conditions to open a nursery for children?

A. You will find the answer to the question in the regulation of nurseries (attached).

Q: What are the requirements for fostering a child?

A. There are terms and documents that must be met in order to accept the application as provided in Article (16) of the Regulation for Care and Family Custody after the initial interview to verify the suitability and appropriateness of the family to embrace the child. After the technical study, a social research is conducted in field and then submitted for approval.

Q. Is it possible for a non-Omani family to foster a child?

A. Yes, as the stipulated conditions in Article (22) of the Regulation.

Q. Is it allowed to see the children to choose from them?

A. Yes, but after approval of the application.

Q. Is it allowed that unmarried woman foster a child?

A. Yes, as the stipulated conditions in Article (16) of the Regulation.

Q. Is it possible to grant the child the name of the tribe and the foster family?

A. You can change or give a name for the child to be of Arabic names and does not contradict with the religion of Islam and is compatible with the norms of Oman .Work is in process to study the issue of giving a nickname for a fostered child.

Q. What are the rights obtained by the child?

A. There are a number of rights, including: a passport, birth certificate and social security salary depending on economic conditions.
